A Native New Yorker
Chinatown, Manhattan
I met Michelle at her FiDi apartment on a Saturday afternoon as we set out for a day of impromptu adventures. I soon discovered this was the same home she grew up in—a rare sanctuary filled with childhood memories against the backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge.
A Home in Constant Motion
Walking through the quieter side of Chinatown, she pointed out the Chinese school she attended as a child, recalling afternoons on the basketball court—where her athleticism got her scouted by a modeling agency at the age of nine.

Chaotic & Comforting
Spending the day together offered a glimpse into a true Manhattan upbringing—moving through the city's rhythm, at once chaotic, yet deeply familiar and comforting.
We ended at my favorite spot on Eldridge Street; despite the many changes in the neighborhood, this one has remained.
Michelle's Recs
"I would spend a lot of time in Columbus Park, there’s a cash only dumpling spot [Jin Mei Dumpling], you can get a lot of dumplings for super cheap.
Also Ling Kee Beef Jerky by Seward Park [is] way better than any jerky you can buy in store."
