Kaan emerged as a personal creative project between two design friends seeking an uncomplicated go-to bag that brings us around the city and beyond. An easy alternative that is non-leather, less technical, and simply timeless. After testing many protos we developed the perfect oversized size. A bag for the week and into the weekend, the Bucket Tote effortlessly simplifies the day-to-day, leaving more time to focus on the things that matter.
We aim to elevate our lives by making everyday look and feel effortless. We believe in conscious consumerism by designing with longevity and timelessness in mind. Using durable and easy-to-clean materials, we hope to offer long-term solutions for our daily routine.
Durable, Easy-to-Clean, Versatile, Functional
Canvas has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio making it durable, lightweight, and easy-to-clean. Additionally our waterproof canvas resist signs of wear, further increasing the product lifespan.
The simple shape allows for maximum space, fitting everything from a water bottle, laptop, gym clothes, beach towel, groceries, to spontaneous purchases. Our Bucket Tote is designed to keep us equipped and ready to handle our needs any day of the week.
Who We Are
Kaan was formally founded in 2022 by Japanese jewelry designer (Sasai) Akari Sasai Cassidy and Chinese-Canadian clothing designer (Index Series) Anna Pang. We are designers who have worked in the industry for over 10 years and are always on a creative journey seeking beauty through design. Being AAPI female founders, we seek to support our community of minority women. Our bags are handcrafted in small batches with women and minority-owned factories in New York City.
"It's such a beautiful design!! Just did a grocery shop after the beach too and it feels so nice on your shoulder with a heavy bag of produce. I love!"
"Used it everyday since! It's the perfect size for a laptop"
"It's such a smart shape bc it's narrow but long. So I can fit all my normal purse things plus my water bottle fits nicely. The strap is thick so it's comfy on my shoulders even if I put more stuff in it."
